Using Charcoal to Clean

Imagine being able to detox your air and water at home every day without any harsh chemicals. It may sound too good to be true, but that’s exactly what activated charcoal can do. Activated charcoal is a natural way to remove environmental toxins and it’s incredibly easy to use.

When it comes to detoxing your home, activated charcoal is a powerhouse. It’s been shown to remove up to 98% of airborne toxins, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), bacteria, mold, and other harmful particles. And because it’s all natural, you don’t have to worry about any harsh chemicals or fumes.

Activated charcoal works by absorbing contaminants in the air or water. This means that the toxins are attracted to the surface of the charcoal and then trapped there. The result is clean, fresh air (or water) that’s free of harmful contaminants.

Activated charcoal is safe for both humans and animals. In fact, it’s often used in hospitals, internally, to treat patients who have overdosed on drugs or been poisoned. When used properly, there are no known side effects of activated charcoal.

When I lived in New York City, instead of hauling big water containers (1 gallon is 8 pounds) from the grocery to my apartment, I used charcoal in my water pitcher to pull contaminants out of the tap water. I would just brush off the surface of the charcoal stick every two weeks or so. I also placed charcoal sticks around the apartment to clean the air.

If you’re looking for a natural way to remove environmental toxins from your home, activated charcoal is a great option. It can come in numerous forms: sticks, sachets and air purifiers. It’s incredibly easy to use. Simply place the stick, sachet or purifier in the room you want to purify or drop a charcoal stick in your water pitcher. You will be amazed at how easy and inexpensive it is!
